2018 Year in Review

This is one of those things that’s so hard to do. How do you write up something to summarize an entire year when there is so much to be thankful for and so many emotions and experiences involved?  Lets start with the new and exciting thing … We awarded not only our 1st Sydnee Faith Owens Scholarship, but 3 of them. All of these girls were so well deserving of the scholarship:  Helen McClure – Aurora, Sarah Lueck – Arcadia, Katrina Gould – Arcadia. Talk about hard to do, picking just these girls was so difficult given all of the applicants.

As far as the runs go, they went so well with growing numbers once again and so many people that not only participate but that volunteer. God has given us so many good people that come alongside FMF and help carry out  this mission. We are going to keep having both the run at the Carlson Ranch north of Marquette as well as the 4th of July run in Comstock. The one thing that will change is the name. We felt like “Mud” was a word that kept sticking out to people and holding them back from running and the sad thing is there wasn’t really all that much mud – it just came to mind in naming.  With that being said we tried to come up with a name that is more descriptive of our run and we felt like “FMF Trail Challenge – Carlson’s Ranch and FMF Trail Challenge – Comstock” did a better job of describing and still keeping the name not too long. Both of these races are just so much fun in their own ways. Our main goal with them is comradery, but yet make it challenging enough for a seasoned runner.

This year we were able to cut a check to Water for Life – Haiti for $7,000. What is so great with them now is they give us pictures and a plaque with coordinates of the actual well that was built with the funds. To see our ministry name and the smiling faces of the people using these wells makes it totally worth all the hard work. So thank you, for each and every one of you, whether you are a runner, a volunteer, a Comstock VFD member helping or a wife that put’s up with all the irritations that could come from organizing something like this as well as filling in all of the gaps I miss. You all make this organization what it is and we are just so thankful we are able to carry on the dream Sydnee Faith had, as well as glorifying such a great and mighty Savior in the process!

To God be the glory forever and ever!!
