2017 was a crazy year for Faith Moving Forward. Not knowing what to expect we entered into 2017 hoping we could get enough raised for an entire well, usually around $5,000. God had much greater plans for us than what we even hoped for. We wanted to add another run to the schedule to have fun with our Northern friends in the Comstock area. We planned it on the 4th of July to coincide with all the holiday fun there and just hoped we would get a few runners and raise awareness about the foundation and what we do. We were blown away having 48 runners and many sponsors for the 1st annual Muddy Faith Run making this a great event for us. That weekend we brought the party back to the pastures outside market to hold our 3rd annual Faith Flight Mud Run. Growing again in runners to 67 runners this year and having a great amount of volunteers to make this a success again.
One of the things that came out of this year’s run was a partnership to come alongside a group of guys in Aurora to do their first Spikeball Tournament. What a great success this was as well and such a fun time. Thanks Aurora Spikeball for including us in your first year event and letting us be the beneficiary of the funds raised!
This year was such an exciting year and we have only God to thank for doing so much more than we thought could happen, being our best year in total funds raised since the inception of Faith Moving Forward Foundation. We were able to give a total of $11,000 to Water For Life – Haiti and in the next month awarding our very first recipients in Aurora and Sargent the “Sydnee Faith Owens Memorial Scholarship” to future Healthcare students. We also were able to come alongside 3 different families that were either in hospice or were battling in the trenches with cancer to help monetarily during such a much difficult time. Thank you to all that have contributed or participated with Faith Moving Forward and we look forward to continuing to show the love of Christ to those around us. Be a “Difference Maker”!!
